EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 400 international student advising centers in more than 170 countries. The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited post-secondary institutions in the United States. EducationUSA also provides services to the U.S. higher education community to help institutional leaders meet their recruitment and campus internationalization goals. The Canadian EducationUSA center was established in Ottawa in 2012. The Canadian advisor, Jenika Heim, operates out of the Fulbright Commission. Since there is one advisor for Canada’s 3,854,085 square miles, we focus the bulk of our advising on virtual means. Check out our

The Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America (Fulbright Canada) is a binational, treaty-based, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization with a mandate to identify the best and brightest minds in both countries and engage them in residential academic exchange. Fulbright Canada, founded in 1990, provides support to students, scholars, teachers, and independent researchers through a variety of programs which are open to individuals in all academic fields with the exception of medical training. EducationUSA works out of the Fulbright Canada office and collaborates closely with the Fulbright team. EducationUSA promotes Fulbright’s exchange programs and can help answer your questions about

- For undergraduate student exchange between the U.S. and Canada for 1-2 semesters

- For students who are applying for full-time graduate study in the United States
- Youth Ambassadors Program with Canada

The United States Embassy is located in Canada’s capital city, Ottawa, Ontario. The Embassy houses the U.S. Ambassador, more than 10 departments, and more than 200 employees. The U.S. presence in Canada serves to maintain positive relationships between the two countries.
The Public Affairs section is entirely devoted to fostering mutual understand between Canadians and Americans. EducationUSA works closely with the Cultural Affairs team in Ottawa and with the Consulates across Canada.
The Embassy has a presence in seven of Canada’s major cities in the form of U.S. Consulates. The Consulates in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal have Public Affairs teams who work closely with EducationUSA in Ottawa.
