EDUCATIONUSA CANADA ADVISERS
JENIKA HEIM, OTTAWA
Jenika is a Northern California native who lives in Ottawa, Ontario and has worked as an EducationUSA adviser since 2014. She received a BA from the University of California, Davis in History and Communications with a Minor in Social and Ethnic Relations, and a Master’s degree from San Diego State University in Women’s Studies. Before coming to Fulbright, she spent eight years working in universities, community colleges, and test preparation.

RACHEL LIU, VANCOUVER
Rachel Liu is a newly joined EducationUSA Advisor based in Vancouver. She is responsible for providing advice, support and counseling for students who would like to study in the United States, both as full-time degree seeking students and as exchange students.Rachel Liu was born and raised in China, and has been living in Vancouver, BC for thirteen years. Before working for EducationUSA, she has worked for education consulting companies and local high schools as academic advisor. She has lots of experience helping high school students apply for universities both in Canada and the US.

VSFS INTERNS
The Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS) is a nine-month remote internship for U.S. citizen students, college-level and above, who would like to make a real difference in the work of the U.S. government. Since 2009, thousands of eInterns have expanded the efforts of the U.S. government, working remotely from their school, dorm room, apartment, local library or coffee shop – wherever they happen to be! VASCO MCALEAR
Vasco McAlear is a sophomore bachelor's student at Indiana University Bloomington, studying International Studies, Economics and Chinese at the Hamilton-Lugar School of Global and International Studies and the Department of Economics at Indiana University. He has had extensive experience with French and English over the course of his life, and is looking forward to applying his experience to help students in Canada achieve their goals of studying in the US!
ACACIA WASTCHAK
Acacia Wastchak is a second year master's student at Arizona State University and the Thunderbird School of Global Management studying Global Management with a concentration in Global Affairs. Her undergrad is also from ASU and Thunderbird in International Trade with a minor in French where she graduated from the Barrett Honors College and completed an honors thesis on the preservation of minority languages in Western Europe. Acacia is passionate about citizen diplomacy and cross-cultural understanding which is why she's excited to help Canadian college students learn more about studying in the US through VSFS this year!
